I spent 3 days in siena during the Palio of the 2nd of july.

I wasn’t there to photograph the horse race in itself, I was more interested in the lifestyle involved in those 3 days, people getting together for dinner on the historical streets, food and mainly good wine.

I have been very lucky as 2 of the Contrada involved in the race(Giraffa and Pantera) gave me hospitality for lunch and dinner. It has been a great chance to see the real Palio and hopefully to take some nice photos.

Here are 2 images of the Winner, Contrada del Drago. The first one, jut after the end of the race and the second one, a few hours later.

I’ll edit the rest in the next days.

Thanks a lot to Francesco Meucci, Paolo Brogi e Lello Giannaneschi. The barbaresco, the man in charge of the horse, crying after winning the 2014 Palio di Siena Black and white fine art photography of people in the street of Siena drinking wine after the Palio
